FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I am located in Ukraine, and I ship daily to clients around the World.

Are these 100% Original Hand-Painted Portraits?

Yes, each Portrait is hand painted and starts with clean white paper or canvas, where only the best materials are used to produce your Original Portrait. NOT DIGITAL PAINTINGS! I don't USE A PRINTER!

How long does it take to receive my order?

All orders usually take between 1-2 weeks to complete, plus 14–25 days for delivery. This time frame is an estimate only, as some can be quicker and some may take longer. Every portrait is hand painted and varies with my work load and order complexity. Holidays and Special Occasions such as Graduation, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. may require a little more time. Your orders for these occasions will be sent in as soon as possible.

Will I be notified regarding the progress on my Portrait?

You will receive messages throughout the process. They are:

A message of your order's acceptance. Photo of the portrait with 50% progress. Photo of your completed Portrait for approval. A confirmation email that your Portrait has been shipped with a tracking number.

What type of photo is best to use?

The quality of your Portrait is a direct result of the quality of your photo. You do not necessarily need to be a Professional Photographer to be able to make a beautiful Portrait. Sometimes the best Portraits are from casual and unexpected poses and photographs.

Can you make modifications to my photo/portrait?

Yes, I can and often do make changes to your request. When ordering, note any changes you might want. For example, merge and combine different photos into one composition; add deceased relatives; add a halo or angel wings.

I can paint you with your lovely pet or any animal, with a fairy-tale character or any transport. I can change the pose, hairstyle, or clothes.

Can you make Portraits from Old/Damaged photos?

Yes, I can take an old black and white or sepia-toned photograph and paint a beautiful hand-painted colored or black and white portrait. Any obvious damage and/or age blemishes on the photograph will be removed when the Portrait is painted.

Number of Subjects

This is used to calculate the cost of your Portrait, as the more subjects, the more complex it is for the Artist. It is quite easy to determine, but occasionally there is a question about how to calculate for certain photographs. Some examples:

Mom and Dad, with two dogs, would be four subjects.

An exotic car with the Owner prominently in front of it would have two subjects (the car and the owner).

A family of 4 in front of their home, where the home is in the background, would be 4. The home is the background and does not count as a subject in this example.

Simply use your best judgment, as 99% of all photos are clear.

Realism vs. Impressionism

It is very important to understand what type of Portrait you want. Some customers choose one of each, as they are so different.

Realism is just that. The Portrait will look very similar to the Photo. It will show all the details and be a very realistic Oil Portrait of the photo.

Impressionism is very different, done with large strokes of impasto. This style is harder to capture in detail, as its importance is simply to convey the impression from the photograph. Many Customers and Artists believe this is more like an actual painting than Realism. It is important to note that the Impression Portrait will not show perfect facial details or be as clear as a Realistic Portrait.

Horizontal vs. Vertical

It is very common to have a Horizontal photograph that would look best cropped and made vertical. And vice versa. Tell me what you want, and I'll make it happen.

Black & White vs. Color

I can either paint the Portrait in Black & White, or colorize it. If you choose to have your Portrait colorized, please note your choices in the comment.
